Ellenbee Leggett has a long history of excellence in food service distribution, starting as early as 1960, when Ernest Kite, a longtime Cincinnati food broker recognized the potential in the industry and began a series of company acquisitions. Among them, was the notable Francis H. Leggett Company, a seven state retail distributor and Ellenbee Foods, a strong school and health care supplier. The merger created Ellenbee Leggett and initiated over 40 years of quality service and products. By 1980, with the addition of several more quality food specialty firms, combining over 100 years of experience, Ellenbee Leggett had established itself as a leader in the region’s foodservice industry.
